Bryan Lee O'Malley is a published graphic novelist, obviously the author of Scott Pilgrim. His series of comic books recently was turned into a film (which I very much enjoyed). I admire his character design, looseness (but still very tight with it...it's playful but serious in its execution) and cartooniness. He's also a fantastic author, in my opinion. His dialogue is really loose and believable.
